"Having a trauma takes away one's sense of time"
The experienced author explains that through yoga, one can realise what they're going through and understand that it will pass, whereas being stuck in a trauma takes away our sense of time.
Yoga allows people to experience their bodies in a contained way, giving us the opportunity to undertake something that we wouldn't normally dare to do. He points out that it could be frightening and it could bring up things we wouldn't necessarily want to admit, but pursuing yoga will give us the courage to face those sensations and that is the first step towards getting better.
